South African Education and Environment Project (SAEP)
SAEP’s Tertiary Support Programme (TS) is calling for professionals or any interested individuals who are passionate about mentoring to partner with us to support youth from previously disadvantaged communities to succeed in their tertiary studies and to maximise their potential and contribute to society.
The Tertiary Support Programme (TS) which is one of SAEP’s programme, supports the alumni from our high schools and Bridging Year programme who have accessed university to successfully complete their qualifications and to thrive academically, socially and emotionally at University. Mentoring is one of TS Programme components which is aimed at supporting the programme to achieve these objectives.
This opportunity is open to individuals who are willing to offer academic guidance and support, share their knowledge of success and offer professional opportunities through either career guidance or assist in creating job shadowing opportunities.
If you are interested, what would be required of you as a mentor is the following:
- Committing to a minimum of 15 hours a year
- To be able to meet with your mentee once a month
- Be able to connect your mentee to career related and professional development opportunities.
TS programme has a very thorough matching process to ensure that we match a mentor and mentee who are well suited to each other.
