Ekupholeni Mental Health and Trauma Centre is a place of healing which strives to reach individuals, families, groups and communities in distress and to engage them in a holistic process of healing, recovery and empowerment.

Ekupholeni seeks to appoint a Social Worker to be based in Johannesburg.

Reporting To: The Clinical Manager
 
Responsibilities:

  • Render social work /therapeutic services to individual, families and communities in accordance with service level agreement, goals and objectives, including but not limited to policies, legislation, Provincial and National norms and standards of social welfare
  • To use the world class therapeutic interventions   in psychosocial services
  • Implement early intervention strategies as a key approach in responding to all psychosocial problems
  • Deliver efficient and effective professional services that contribute to the organisation overall success
  • Render services to clients, families and communities in an authorised therapeutic models as experience required
  •  Significant senior social work experience within the NPO sector
  •  A proven track record of delivering result driven on psychosocial services
  •  Experience of building capacity and sharing knowledge
  •  Proven experience of and ability to plan effectively at the organisational level
  •  Experience of developing and implementation of intervention tools in problem solving

Requirements:

  •  Knowledge of social work best practice
  •  Knowledge of stakeholder relation and engagement
  •  Understanding of working on issues of conflict resolution (desirable)
  •  Multi-lingual
  • Knowledge of understanding and accountable for achieving daily goals or targets (in terms of quantity and quality), in accordance with agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Knowledge of answering questions about the organisation product knowledge, handling objections and using your talents to convince the client to adhere to the treatment plan
  • Maintain an understanding of the organisation programmes, campaigns. This includes keeping up to date with projects and news that affects the organisation and by participating in training, talking with relevant organisation staff, undertaking individual research, etc.
  • Interpretation and Implementation of Social Services Act
  • Labour relation Act
  • NPO Act including norms and standards
  • Project management skills
  • Monitoring and evaluation tools

  • Degree in Social Work
  • Minimum five years’ experience in the field of social work
  • Understanding NPO Sector
  • Registered with Social Work statutory body
  • Driver’s License
  • Computer literacy
