Organisation development and a new strategic focus have created challenging positions for suitable individuals to lead, direct and co-ordinate the Red Cross Activities in the KZN areas working closely with SARCS provincial management, business and government structures to ensure that the branches become well-functioning and able to serve the vulnerable people.
 
Post: Branch Administrator 
Salary Package: R 4000.00 TCTC
Location: Pietermaritzburg
 
Key Performance Objectives include:

  • Preparation of paperwork for payments and payments to be processed on Standard Bank CAATs System
  • Updating Cashbooks, Reconciling Working advances and budget analysis
  • Maintenance of a proper filing system, postage, receipt of donations and letters of thanks sent out to donors
  • Answering of telephones, stock control
  • Ability to manage office
  • Provide support to core programmes
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Matric with experience in office administration, finance, marketing
  • Qualification/ certificate in Finance/ Accounting/ Management would be an advantage
  • Minimum 1- 2 years experience in similar field
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English and IsiZulu would be an Advantage
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize
  • Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and the Internet
  • Proficiency in the use of office equipment (Computer, Fax, Photocopier, Binding, Laminating)
  • Drivers licence- Code 8 with experience

 
Post: AYH (Adolescent and Youth Health) / YWD (Young Women Development) Officer
Salary Range: R6000.00 – R8000.00 TCTC
Location: Durban
 
Key Performance Objectives include:

  • Assist in implementation of the AYFS programme provincially
  • Develop a programme for Young Women in Development provincially
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with government departments and stakeholders
  • Must have skills in training and facilitation i.e. drawing up course material on the related topics as well as conduct trainings at all branches.
  • To develop partnerships with stakeholders /other to gain trainings for Young Women in Development i.e. Entrepreneurship, IGA Activities
  • Must be able to monitor effectiveness of IGA Activities and Entrepreneur skills
  • Must be able to develop women forums and co-ordinate life skills camps and activities
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Grade 12 Certificate with a formal Degree/ Diploma in Social Sciences/ Youth or Community Development  with experience in similar position
  • Must have substantial experience in report writing i.e. narrative and statistical
  • Must be able to work in a team as well as an individual
  • Valid code 8 driver’s licence with minimum 12 months experience with no endorsement (manual)
  • Computer literacy including experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint , Microsoft Access,  Excel and Outlook
  • Well organized and diligent and able to work under no supervision
  • Good people skills, communication skills and presentation skills (both verbal and written) in at least two of the provincial languages.
  • This position best suits a female between the ages of 18-35 years

 
Post: Reporting Officer
Salary Range: R20 000.00 TCTC
Location: Durban
 
Key Performance Objectives include:

  • Establish planning, reporting, monitoring and evaluation structures and systems across branches;
  • Participate in strengthening existing M&E system.
  • Support in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual programme performance reports.
  • Consolidating both narrative and M&E reports as per the HIV/Aids strategy and programme indicators, ensuring accuracy of entered data and comparing it with previous periods;
  • Analyse and monitor programme trends;
  • Support in the review and checking of data generated being in line with the M&E reporting requirements.
  • Assist with guidance and support to the programmes team in the development and implementation of monitoring tools, which will include, but not be limited to, data collection, analysis and reporting on programme indicators;
  • Participate in the training of field staff in monitoring of activities (process) based on indicators and targets set out.
  • Support the coordination and execution of events in the department such as, training, collecting and disseminating relevant information on monitoring, evaluation and research.
  • Other Monitoring and Evaluation functions as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Degree/ Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation with at least 2 years’ experience
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to summarize information in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent research and data collection methodology skills
  • Ability to work independently to efficiently meet deadlines 
  • Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills in both English and IsiZulu
  • Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft package is a must
  • Valid drivers’ license is a must

 
Post: Prevention Officer
Salary Range: R25 000.00 TCTC
Location: Durban
 
Key Performance Objectives include:

  • Strengthen monitoring system for all prevention activities
  • Research and update SARCS team on emerging techniques on prevention of HIV, TB and related infections
  • HIV testing, monitoring and pre and post counselling
  • Provide pre and post-test counselling, as well as risk reduction counselling, if necessary
  • Provide basic HIV / ARV education to clients individually and in groups
  • Follow-up telephone calls with HIV positive clients that were counselled
  • Enter client data onto database
  • Assist with recruiting patients for testing
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality
  • Ability to manage, train and mentor staff and volunteers
  • Monitor HIV testing and counselling carried out by care givers
  • Draw up branch monthly, quarterly and annual narrative and M&E reports

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal skills, compassion and sensitivity to beneficiaries
  • Must be registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • 3-5 years previous experience in similar position
  • Maintain Confidentiality
  • Knowledge and experience in TB and HIV service delivery
  • Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft package
  • Must be able to multi task and multi skilled
  • Well organized and diligent and able to work under no supervision
  • Good people skills and communication skills in English and IsiZulu
  • Should be reliable, responsible, honest and hard working
  • Must have drivers licence: Code 8
