Auwal Socio-Economic Research Institute (ASRI)
Auwal Socio-Economic Research Institute (ASRI) is a pluralist domestic public policy institute, which conducts policy research, prototyping and advocacy in five key areas: Nation Building and Governance; Job Creation; Public Health; Public Education, and Crime and Justice.
There is no salary cost to the host organisation for taking an extern as this is covered by ASRI for four months.
In 2016, the ASRI Future Leaders Fellowship programme was launched which is aimed at developing and enhancing people who have an interest in the civil society, NGO and government sectors. All participants have some sort of community and leadership experience and come from a diverse range of backgrounds.
The formal ASRI Future Leaders programme is five months and will conclude at the end of July.
For the four months of August, September, October and November the participants on the programme go on externships at organisations to get experience and to further develop their skills.
During this 4-month period, ASRI pays the ASRI Fellows a monthly stipend to cover their personal expenses, so there is no salary cost to the host organisation for taking on an extern.
If your organisation is interested in hosting an ASRI Future Leader Fellow for the duration of their four month externship, email and express your interest and tell us more about your organisation and what role the extern can fill at our organisation.
For more information regarding our participants, profiles on each of them can be viewed on http://www.asri.org.za/class-of-2017/
