Sonke has the following vacancies:

Datacapturer – R165 000 per annum

About this position
The Data Capturer will be responsible for the capturing of data from various source documents into the computer system for storage, processing and management purposes.
 
Key Functions:
Datacapturing: Preparation, compilation, sorting and capturing of data.
Reporting:  Timely collation and submission of reports.
Administration: Adherence to HR, finance, administration and procurement policies and procedures.

Qualification and experience

  • Matric certificate
  • College certificate / Diploma in Administration
  • IT and database skills
  • Knowledge of Salesforce will be advantageous
  • Proven data capturing experience

Junior Trainer  – R132 000 per annum

About the position
The purpose of the junior trainer is to develop and deliver outstanding training and workshop activities that engage adolescents, meets their learning objectives and contributes to the programme’s overall performance targets by reviewing workshop practices to maximise beneficiary participation and satisfaction.
 
Responsibilities

  • Conduct community mapping in the areas around intervention schools
  • Ensure that community members and community based organizations are supported and participating in the programme using the 5 in 1 community mobilization model
  • Ensure meetings are held with relevant stakeholders
  • Support learners' team activities – at least one per month

Qualifications & experience  

  • Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent evidence of prior learning
  • A formal relevant  degree/diploma, preferably in health or human rights sciences or a related field 
  • Public speaking experience or willingness to learn
  • Proven ability to write weekly project reports
  • At least one year experience working with communities
  • Good understanding of the local community challenges
  • Ability to influence and work with community leaders and diverse community members

Competencies  

  • Facilitation skills
  • Familiarity with community mobilization strategies

Senior Trainer  – R276 000 per annum

About the position
The purpose of the Senior Trainer is to oversee the smooth development and implementation of the project in the intervening schools and sites in the Western Cape.
 
Responsibilities

  • Develop the project work plan and monitor its implementation
  • Monitor the implementation of the project, both in schools and in the community
  • Provide support and guidance for team members
  • Conduct community mapping in the areas around intervention schools
  • Ensure that community members and community based organizations are supported and participating in the implementation of the programme using the 5 in 1 community mobilization model
  • Ensure meetings are held with relevant stakeholders
  • Support learners' team activities – at least one per month

Qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in the public health field and at least 4-5 years related experience
  • Diploma in project management would be advantageous
  • Ability to influence and work with community leaders and diverse community members

Competencies  

  • Facilitation and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with community mobilization strategies
  • Budgeting and financial management skills
  • Report writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
