Jo’burg Child Welfare provides care services, adoption and fostering, abuse treatment and prevention, rights advocacy and learning to children and their families across Johannesburg. The JCW centres are:

  • Princess Alice Adoption Home (round the clock care for abandoned babies)
  • Child and Family Unit
  • Thembalethu (Life Skills and economic empowerment for young women)
  • Elton John Masibambisane Centre (for orphaned and vulnerable children and their families)

Jo’burg Child Welfare seeks to appoint a Social Work Supervisor, based in Johannesburg.


  • A Bachelor of Social Work
  • Current registration with the SACSSP
  • At least three to five years’ experience as a Social Worker
  • Previous supervisory experience as well as experience in Child Protection will be an added advantage
  • A valid driver’s licence
  • Knowledge of Framework for Supervision of SACSSP
  • Good interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to supervise social workers and work in a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure in an organised, quick and efficient manner
