Senior Evaluator / Researcher and Evaluator / Researcher
 
Creative Consulting & Development Works (CC&DW) is a research, evaluation and communications consultancy celebrating more than a dozen years of technical support and client work in the development sector.  Due to company growth we are recruiting two new team members: A Senior Evaluator/ Researcher and Evaluator/Researcher.
 
The candidates will join the strategic and operational leadership team and support the sustainability, growth and achievement of CC&DW's mission. Candidates will provide evaluation technical support, grow our training programme and ensure high quality and innovation.
 
SENIOR EVALUATOR / RESEARCHER
Responsibilities: guide and contribute to the development of research and evaluation proposals, budgets and workplans, develop M&E frameworks, indicators and methodologies, clarify programme logic, develop research instruments, fieldwork and data collection, analysis and substantive report-writing, presentation to clients and development and implementation of our training programme.
 
Key objectives for this role includes:

  • strategic leadership;
  • evaluation technical support;
  • training
  • team mentoring and development; and
  • new business development.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Evaluation experience at a senior level within the development sector – a minimum of 6 years’ evaluation experience, preferably as a lead evaluator
  • Significant and excellent experience in research and evaluation design, data collection techniques, data analysis and report writing are essential requirements
  • Experience in a consulting environment
  • M&E qualification, or significant practical experience is essential
  • Quality academic record at a Masters degree level
  • Excellent report writing skills and analytical approach
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Training experience and materials development would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage and negotiate at a senior level with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience leading and mentoring researchers in an evaluation setting preferred
  • Experience working regionally and/ or internationally would be an advantageous
  • Drivers’ license and willingness to travel are essential.

  • Quality academic record at a Honours or Masters degree level
  • Excellent report writing skills and analytical approach
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Drivers’ license and willingness to travel are essential.

This position would suit an ambitious and talented emerging evaluator wishing to grow their evaluation expertise and footprint.  The candidate should work well in a team, be target driven, ambitious and hard working. PDI candidates will be given preference.
 
Candidates must be able to reside and work legally in South Africa. Candidates should be able to work at our offices in Cape Town, although consideration will be given to a Pretoria or Gauteng-based candidate working on a satellite office basis.
 
Salaries are attractive, market related and commensurate with experience.
