Organisational development and a new strategic focus have created challenging positions for suitable individuals to lead, direct and co-ordinate the Red Cross Activities.

Post: National Programme Manager (Sandton)
Minimum Requirements and Key Performance Areas:

  • A 3 year tertiary level qualification in health care and/or social development programming with wide experience in community health care
  • Provide technical support for effective baseline studies, resource mobilisation, implementation and monitoring of programmes as well as supervision of staff
  • Project management experience highly recommended
  • Track record for writing funding proposals, project implementation plans and donor reports
  • Lead, co-ordinate and develop policies for all Red Cross programmes nationally
  • Identify and strengthen partnerships with government, business and civil society organizations nationally
  • Identify training needs for staff and volunteers, in accordance with strategic development plans
  • Prepare programme strategies, proposals, reports and evaluations
  • Appreciation on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and preparation of M&E reports
  • Proven track record of regional and country experience
  • A proven ability to interact effectively with government agencies, CBOs and NGOs
  • To be competent in overall planning, implementation and coordination of all programmes at all provinces
  • Must have excellent managerial and financial skills
  • To be able to communicate effectively
  • To be pro-active, energetic and positive with strong commitment to the humanitarian principles of the Red Cross Movement
  • Requirement to travel nationally to lead, observe and implement projects and international to meet with donors and source funding/resources
  • Valid code 8 driver’s licence with minimum 12 months experience with no endorsement (manual)
  • Must be Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint , Microsoft Access,  Excel and Outlook

 Post: National Training Manager (Sandton) 
Minimum Requirements and Key Performance Areas:

  • 3 year Degree/ Diploma in Education, post graduate studies in education will be an advantage
  • Proven experience of working in Sectoral Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) programme
  • Ideally qualified and registered as an assessor, moderator and Skills Development Facilitator with the Health and Welfare SETA or ETDP SETA
  • Five to ten years’ experience in community based training in social and community development programmes
  • Engage provinces in drawing up annual National Training Plans and lead the development of funding proposals for training
  • Develop and submit Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATRs) for submission to the Health and Welfare SETA
  • Ensure compliance from all branches/ provinces with HWSETA requirements
  • Mentor and supervise training instructors, assessors and moderators in provinces, and assess and/or moderate trainings where necessary
  • Conduct training meetings with provinces to keep them updated with relevant changes in the training and skills development space
  • Champion the development and promotion of training packages; develop marketing plan and marketing material for trainings
  • Ensure that the organisation is fully compliant with HWSETA regulations
  • Support the Programmes Manager in mobilising funding for training and skills development
  • Provide support and mentorship to all provinces
  • Draw up national monthly, quarterly and annual Statistical and Narrative reports
  • Must have a Drivers Licence: Code 8 and be willing to travel nationally to provide support to branches/ provinces.

Post: National Finance Officer’s X 2 (Sandton)
Minimum Requirements and Key Performance Areas:

  • Must have a 3 year Finance/Accountant with minimum 3 years’ experience in management of Finances/ similar role
  • Finance Duties
  • Must be able to work on multiple project funding
  • Must be able to work on an accounting package such as Pastel Accounting
  • Able to lead and manage the financial and operational budgeting processes
  • Oversee all financial reporting within SARCS to ensure it is accurate, timely and meaningful
  • Oversee all accounting policies, procedures and systems used by SARCS
  • Oversee all statutory and external reporting
  • Manage the relationship with associated business partners including auditors, tax –consultants, banking partners, etc
  • Be involved in the management of risk within SARCS and install a culture of risk awareness throughout the society, ensuring an appropriate internal control framework is in place and is regularly monitored and reported upon
  • Be a part of the Senior Management team and contribute to strategic planning and development
  • Must be able to manage/ oversee finance staff at all SARCS provinces
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary
  • Valid code 8 driver’s licence with minimum 12 months experience with no endorsement (manual) and willing to travel to all areas of South Africa
  • Computer literacy including experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint , Microsoft Access,  Excel and Outlook
  • Able to work under pressure with no supervision and bewell organized and diligent
  • Good people skills and communication skills (both verbal and written) in at least two of the provincial

 
Post: Provincial Manager (Gauteng Province)
Minimum Requirements and Key Performance Areas:

  • A tertiary level qualification and  in Management/ and or equivalent with minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position
  • Ability to manage and provide technical support and guidance to projects, different departments/ branches and staff in the province
  • Able to execute fundraising opportunities i.e. proposal writing, marketing, donor funding, unrestricted funding to raise funds
  • Develop and maintain a sustainable SARCS model in the Province and set up SARCS Offices and staff structures
  • Must have financial management experience to oversee province finances
  • Experience in report writing therefore must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint , Microsoft Access,  Excel and Outlook
  • Must have experience in budgeting, planning, needs analysis, co-ordination and community relations
  • A proven ability to interact effectively with government agencies, CBOs and NGOs
  • To be able to communicate effectively in English and local Language
  • Strong commitment to the humanitarian principles of the Red Cross Movement
  • Be required to travel provincially to observe and implement branches/projects
  • Valid code 8 driver’s licence with minimum 12 months experience with no endorsement (manual)
  • Ability to strengthen and support the SARCS Senior Management team
  • Take leadership in capacitating and developing the Province
  • Report to and Support the CEO in all Management aspects as and when the need arises
  • To undertake any other duties as requested
