The Vumelana Advisory Fund is a nonprofit organisation that helps beneficiaries of the land reform programme to develop their land in an effective and sustainable way. Vumelana was established in 2012, with the aim to support the establishment of commercially viable partnerships between investors and local community land owners to create jobs, income and skills. Vumelana’s main objective is to demonstrate the value of community private partnerships as a contributor to successful land reform.
Beneficiaries of land reform vie for award and cash incentive in the 2016 Vumelana Governance Award.
The annual Vumelana Governance Award seeks to reward and incentivise good governance practices among Communal Property Associations and Trusts to assist in resolving some of the challenges that lead to the high failure rate of land transferred under the land reform programme.
The Vumelana Advisory Fund is inviting applications are invited from Communal Property Associations and Trusts for the Vumelana Governance Award 2016 that demonstrate good governance practices.
- First Prize: R200 000
- Second Prize: R100 000
The submission deadline is 4 November 2016 at 12h00.
