Southern Africa Litigation Centre
The Southern Africa Litigation Centre (SALC) is a regional non-governmental human rights organisation that is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. SALC seeks the services of a senior consultant to assist the organisation develop monitoring and evaluation tools to monitor the impact of its litigation and training initiatives.
Specific tasks of the assignment will include:
- Conducting an assessment of SALC’s judicial training programme’s monitoring and evaluation system and tools and recommending changes to improve the M&E system;
- Leading on the design of relevant and manageable monitoring systems and data gathering tools as well as an analysis framework which will produce relevant information for management decision making;
- Enabling staff to manage the new systems;
- Conducting an end of project evaluation of the SALC’s judicial capacity strengthening programme.
This is a short consultancy to start in July 2016.
Required qualifications and experience:
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation systems, the design of impact assessment tools and pre- and post-training assessments, and working with intangible results. Particular experience in the field of public interest law, advocacy and judicial training will be an advantage.
