This position demands a very strong level of experience in fundraising as a core function so candidates who do not offer this experience will not be considered for this role

This position within a long-established and prominent Non-Profit organisation working within the field of Human Rights and Social Justice, is looking to appoint a very well-experienced fundraiser who has excellent Marketing skills and developmental attitude.  The role will be for a person who has been generating a minimum of R30 million per annum from local donors, Trusts, Foundations and Corporate entities.  There is an existing base of donors that needs to be grown and developed further, as well as new areas of endeavour developed from initiatives instituted through this new role. 

You will have sound managerial capacity to work with a small team and to grow and develop their capacity and skills, as well as contributing to the overall managerial capacity of the organisation from within the Marketing and Development department. 

Your communication skills will include sound technology and social media expertise and the use of new methods of reaching target markets both locally and abroad.  Communication skills in both English and Afrikaans are necessary  as is the ability to monitor the reach of your communications. Although you will need to have the capacity to write proposals and grant applications, there is capacity in the department in this regard, but the need will be to identify and pursue new opportunities for these approaches. 

Ideally, your background will be within Fundraising, but with a strong Marketing focus and your experience will include managing budgets, financial controls and overall departmental issues, supported by an HR Manager in relation to staff matters.
