We are seeking suitably qualified candidates fo the following positions in the Communities Forward project based in Durban (Kwa-Zulu Natal Province), South Africa

Professional Nurse (x2)

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provision of services acording to the Minimum Package of services for the Key Population - STIs, HIV, TBmanagement and care and HIV prevention through Community Based Counselling and Testing CBCT, PMTCT, VMMC, FP, SGBV, ART
  • Provide Community Outreach Services to Key Populations in the designated Mobile Service Points in eThekwini and uGu Districts
  • Provide Community HIV Counselling and Testing within the framework of Provider Initiated Counselling and Testing (PITC), assuring the quality of HIV testing
  • Ensure quality control measures including record keeping for all activities undertaken for the running of  the MSU
  • Supervise and manage Mobile Team
  • Ensure Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting on activities carried out in the Mobile Service Unit
  • Must be registered with the South African Nursing Council
  • Carry out all other duties as may be designated by the supervisor

Requirements:

  • General Nursing and Midwifery, currently registered with the South African Nursing Council, Clinical Nurse Practitioner, Reproductive Health (Family Planning), 10 - day training
  • PICT training, a dispensing license is a pre-requisite
  • 5 - 10 years' experience in a clinic/ primary health care setting
  • HIV experience is essential
  • Experience in working with Key Populations will be an added advantage
  • A valid driver's license (code 8 and/or PDP)

Data Capturer

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensures accurate daily data capturing and compilation from designated Community-Based Counseling and Testing (CBCT) Mobile Service Units (MSU) points;
  • Captures monthly data on monthly summary sheets;
  • Ensures that all Community Based Counselling and Testing (CBCT) outputs are captured in DHIS according to Standard Operation Procedures;
  • Prints standard reports as and when requested by programme managers;
  • Validates the quality of data captured by performing systems verifications;
  • Verifies the integrity of data provided by Peer Educators from outreach sites by comparing with previously submitted records;
  • Performs data quality assurance and control measures and timely submission of reports;
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is a minimum requirement;
  • Willingness to increase knowledge and update skills as required;
  • Additional relevant training will be an added advantage;
  • Qualification and experience in HIV/AIDS as lay counsellor;
  • Basic training in HIV/AIDS, TB and STI information;
  • Ability to speak at least two local languages is essential. Proficieny in isiZulu and English is required;
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel, MS Word;
  • Experience in data collection and capturing;
  • Experience with data capturing or collection in a health systems research environment or within the public health sector will be advantageous;
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills;
  • Computer literacy - with computer certificate on Microsoft Word (MSW), Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint

Professional Driver

Responsibilities Include:

  • Update the log book of vehicle use on a daily basis for recording of mileage;
  • Transportation services for MSU staff, commodities and other personnel as may be required;
  • Checks safety of the vehicle to ensure road worthiness on a daily basis;
  • Reports periodic servicing needs of the vehicle in advance to ensure its proper handling;
  • Ensures that the vehicle is clean and neatly packed at all times;
  • Ensures safe keeping of vehicle accessories e.g. jack, first aid kit, etc.;
  • Ensure that immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in a car accident OR traffic fines;
  • Any other duties as delegated by the MSU Team Leader.

  • Matric or equivalent
  • Valid drivers license
  • Valid PDP
