SouthSouthNorth is calling for expressions of interest from a Facilitating Agency (FA) in the Mopani District Municipality, Limpopo, to partner with and facilitate South Africa’s Small Grants Facility pilot project for Climate Change Adaptation.
SouthSouthNorth has been appointed as the Executing Entity for the Community Adaption Small Grant Facility – an innovative pilot project to fund climate change adaptation projects for communities vulnerable to climate change impacts in South Africa. This project is funded by the Adaptation Fund (AF) through the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) which is the National Implementing Agency (NIE) for South Africa.
The Small Grants Facility will support vulnerable, rural communities in Mopani and Namakwa District Municipalities to reduce their vulnerability to climate change and increase resilience to climate change impacts. The objective is to incorporate climate change adaptation response strategies into local practices so that assets, livelihoods and ecosystem services are protected from climate-induced risks.
The Facilitating Agency (FA) in the Mopani District Municipality will partner with SSN and facilitate South Africa’s Small Grants Facility pilot project for Climate Change Adaptation. This is an exciting opportunity for an organisation to support local CBOs/NGOs in designing and implementing adaptation projects that benefit vulnerable groups, while continuing to establish itself as a social development organisation and/or an innovator in climate changeadaptation.
To apply, submit Expression of Interest proposals to firstname.lastname@example.org. No late proposal will be considered.
