Cape Mental Health is a nonprofit organisation based in Observatory, Cape Town, which offers a comprehensive mental health service in the Western Cape.

Cape Mental Health seeks to appoint a Social Worker to render social work intervention services to the learner population with the main objective of the promotion and awareness of mental health.

This position is based in Cape Town.

  • Registration as social worker with the SACSSP;
  • Valid South African driver’s license;
  • Experience in working with youth and knowledge of  the Mental Health Act, Schools Act and the Childrens Act will be an advantage.


  • Render social work intervention services to the learner population;
  • Facilitate  support or educational groups for learners and their caregivers where required;
  • Liaison with relevant resources or other service providers in the community in order to promote the agency and the interests of the  clients;
  • Report writing;
  • Attending meetings to promote mental health;
  • Submit statistics monthly.
