mothers2mothers is currently recruiting for the following positions based in the m2m SA Country Programme. 

Deputy Country Director- SA Country Program 
 
Purpose:

  • The Deputy Country Director is responsible for the strategic financial management, admin and operations services for the m2m SA Country programme, in line with organisational polices, values and professional best practice. The position ensures efficient country operations and stewardship of project resources to deliver quality programming. The position will be based in the m2m SA Country Office in Pretoria; reporting to and working closely with the Country Director – South Africa. 

Summary of key areas of responsibility:

  • Strategic financial management to the Country programme;
  • Leadership of all country related financial matters in compliance with local and funder rules and regulations including procurement processes;
  • Oversight of efficient operational and administrative functions and services to drive successful project implementation and country operations;
  • Lead strategic human resource portfolio to ensure capacitated country and project team structures;
  • Establish and ensure effective systems and procedures for management, administration and compliance as per our Donor and internal m2m policies and regulations across all operational aspects;

Summary of qualifications:

  • Minimum Business Science/Administration degree with at least 7 years’ experience  in financial and operations management of a large organisation;
  • Master’s degree highly advantageous;
  • Dynamic, strategic thinker with strong business and analytical skills.
  • Results and action oriented leader.

Country Finance Manager – SA Country Program

Purpose:

  • The Country Finance Manager leads the country management and oversees general accounting functions. This position is responsible for the budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis at country level. He/she oversees the processing and monitoring of all aspects of the financial transactions and related administrative processes for the m2m South Africa Country Programme. The position will be based in the m2m SA Country Office in Pretoria; reporting to the Deputy Country Director – South Africa. 

Summary of key areas of responsibility:

  • Oversee financial and accounting support to the Country Office operations;
  • Ensure the financial integrity of the country operation;
  • Manage financial administrative functions;
  • Lead financial management functions: budget development and management, financial reporting;

Summary of qualifications and competencies:

  • Recognised 3 year Accounting/Business Degree;
  • At least 5-8 years post study experience in a financial/accounting capacity;
  • Knowledge of institutional donor requirements; EC, DfID, UN partner agreements, CIDA, USAID, CDC, etc.
  • Highly independent individual, results and solution oriented with ability to prioritize and produce high quality outputs consistently

Communications Coordinator – SA Country Program

Purpose:

  • To establish and maintain a vibrant internal and external communications portfolio for the mothers2mothers South Africa Country programme, The position will be based in the m2m SA Country Office in Pretoria; reporting to the Country Director

Summary of key areas of responsibility:

  • Communication strategy/work planning;
  • Coordination of project site Visits and key Events;
  • Press/Media Liaison at local level in partnership with m2m HO;
  • Create engaging internal Communications platforms and culture;
  • Facilitate visible project and organisational Branding at local level;
  • Capacity Building support to project and site staff.

Summary of qualifications and competencies:

  • Bachelor degree in communications, journalism or a related field preferred;
  • 4-6  years’ work experience in communications, preferably experience related to NGOs and the health sector;
  •  Excellent verbal and writing skills in English and a minimum of 2 other local languages.

Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator – Capacity Building- SA Country Program
 
Purpose:

  • Manage implementation of all M&E activities for m2m’s South Africa Mentor Mother Programme - Capacity Building project, including provision of M&E capacity building support to Provincial Departments of Health, District Health Management Teams and Implementing Partners. The position will be based in the m2m SA Country Office in Pretoria; reporting to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager.

Summary of key areas of responsibility:

  • SAMMP project M&E  planning and management;
  • SAMMP project M&E technical leadership;
  • Project M&E reviews and reporting;
  • Team management and leadership;

Summary of qualifications and competencies:

  • Relevant Advanced Degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health or related;
  • Minimum of 5 years sound experience in a Research/Programme Monitoring & Evaluation role within the public health sector; experience in technical assistance related HIV/AIDS programmes preferred;
  • Proven experience in management of M&E systems, involving capacity building focused projects.

Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator-Capacity Building – SA Country Program
 
Purpose:

  • To co-ordinate and implement all M&E activities at m2m model sites and for m2m’s Capacity Building programme in support of the m2m SA Country program in the assigned Province in South Africa; with the aim of measuring program performance, improving quality of care, and reporting program activities to m2m donors. The position will be based in the m2m SA Country Office in Pretoria; reporting to the Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator.

Summary of key areas of responsibility:

  • M&E System’s management & implementation;
  • Capacity building, mentorship & technical oversight;
  • M&E reporting & use for decision-making;
  • Quality assurance & routine monitoring;

Summary of qualifications and competencies:

  • Relevant Advanced Degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health or related;
  • Minimum of  3–5 years specific M&E related work experience in the health sector, experience with HIV/AIDS programmes preferred;
  • Sound experience in the implementation and management of M&E systems, involving capacity building for field staff, as well as monitoring and promotion of data quality.
