Mapping the Gender-Based Violence Sector in South Africa: Identifying Innovative and Effective Programming

The Joint Gender Fund is mapping the gender-based violence (GBV) sector in South Africa.

With this survey, we want to get a broad overview of civil society programming and organising around GBV.

Who is it for?

This questionnaire is for any organisation (registered or not) which does work in the field of GBV, even if it is not your main focus. We invite you to share this questionnaire widely!

What is it for?

1. With the data we collect, the Joint Gender Fund will be compiling a directory of organisations working in the sector, which will be published and distributed to funders and civil society. This directory will be launched during the 16 Days of Activism 2015.

2. Selected organisations may be contacted for follow-up discussions with a view to being considered for a targeted request for proposals to support the documentation of innovative and effective programming. Information will also be shared with Oxfam South Africa, who will use the information as part of a broader survey of gender-related organising in civil society.

For more information and to download the questionnaire, please visit our website: http://jointgenderfund.co.za/criteria.html

Please complete the questionnaire and return it to us by email (jointgenderfund@hivos.org) or fax (086 597 0717) before 26 October 2015. If you have any queries or would like to take the survey telephonically, please call Ali Channon or Nicky le Roux on 011 726 1090
