Cancer, Data, Wealth…
Cancer affects individuals through diagnosis of family, friends, colleagues or self. Although seen as an illness that mainly women suffer from, men are also at a risk of getting cancer in their lifetime. Let us encourage one another and strive to educate and be aware in order to reduce cancer risks and recurrence of cancer.
In this week’s edition of NGO Pulse, we look at a partnership formed by CANSA and ACI with a focus on cancer research regarding public health, primary care, nursing, and rehabilitation sciences to build capacity for basic and advanced cancer care.
At a launch in June, key experts addressed various aspects linked to vaccination against cervical cancer, rehabilitation of breast cancer survivors, smoking and cancer, nutrition in cancer management, funding opportunities for research and current research activities related to cancer.
“Many institutions have had to make alternative plans to continue the academic year‚ including making lecture and study material available online while campuses are accessible to students, this may result in further anxiety for students who may already be surviving on the smallest of stipends‚ and must now find additional funds to purchase the data needed to access the materials they require to continue their studies‚” Telkom said.
