The Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies of Zimbabwe has unveiled up a plan to resurrect the country’s Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector.
The goals of the plan, which includes 25 specific ICT related projects, include an audit of infrastructure and a review the country’s ICT policy framework.
The new minister of ICT, Minister Nelson Chamisa, this week met stakeholders in the information communication technology sector to discuss these issues and a proposed national strategic framework for the sector.
He pledged the government’s commitment to revive the flagging ICT industry, which has not been spared the decade-long economic turmoil in the once vibrant Southern African country.
