A youth activist has complained to the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) about Western Cape Premier, Helen Zille's ‘refugee’ comment.
Lukhona Mnguni has asked the SAHRC to ‘advise’ Zille to retract and apologise for her comment on the social networking site Twitter.
Zille referred to Eastern Cape pupils who flocked to the Western Cape for a better education as "refugees" on Twitter.
She tweeted on 20 March 2012: "While ECape education collapsed, WC built 30 schools - 22 new, 8 replacement mainly 4 ECape edu refugees. 26 MORE new schools coming."
