Tuesday, February 17, 2009 - 09:02
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has denied comments attributed to it that Nigeria is not among countries in Sub-Sahara Africa capable of attaining Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015.
The comments come after Tuyi Mebawondu, who was referred to as UNDP consultant, said that UNDP did not reckon with Nigeria as one of the Sub-Saharan African countries capable of attaining any of the MDGs in 2015.
Mebawondu was quoted as saying that despite the noise being made by the three tiers of government, the nation had not shown indicators to convince the UNDP that it was working on the path of attaining any of the goals.
