Monday, November 3, 2008 - 15:22
The Limpopo Department for Local Government and Housing and the Mogalakwena Municipality have handed a four-roomed house to two homeless orphans in near Mokopane.
The sisters, one of whom dropped out of school in Grade 11 and the other deaf, had been kicked of the house they lived in by their uncle following the deaths of their parents in 1988 and in 2000.
The department’s MEC Maite Nkoana-Mashabane has pledged to work with work with the departments of education and social development to ensure that one of the beneficiaries return to school and the other receives a dependency grant because of her hearing difficulty.
