Skweyiya addresses NGO Week

Addressing delegates at the opening of the South African National NGO Coalition's (SANGOCO) NGO Week, Minister of Social Development, Dr Zola Skweyiya, urged greater synergies between government and civil society “in pursuit of African renewal and better life for all” (click here for the Minister's full speech).

Skweyiya emphasised the responsibility of NGOs to strengthen community-based institutions. The Minister also advocated for regional civil society cooperation to strategically position African civil society in global politics.
