ZEF has expressed concern that the South African government is ‘tired’ of Zimbabwe's ongoing political crisis, and this is a possible motive behind its decision to resume deporting Zimbabwean nationals

A Zimbabwean rights group, Zimbabwe Exiles Forum (ZEF), has expressed concern that the South African government is ‘tired’ of Zimbabwe's ongoing political crisis, and this is a possible motive behind its decision to resume deporting Zimbabwean nationals.

ZEF’s Diana Zimbudzana, has been quoted as saying that this fatigue has been expressed by officials in the Home Affairs department.

Zimbudzana was part of the group of civil society stakeholders involved in the Home Affairs controlled Zimbabwe Documentation Project (ZDP), which is almost complete.

"We are not so sure of the reason why South Africa has decided to resume deportations at this juncture," explains Zimbudzana.
