According to Statistics South Africa, South Africa’s electricity exports has increased 6,1% in the three months to March this year, compared with the same period last year.
This comes at the time when Eskom, which generates 95% of the electricity produced in SA, comes under fire for continuing to export electricity at the time when the country is faced with unprecedented power outages.
In the same vein, electricity imports in the first three months of 2008 are down 22,4%, compared with the same period last year.
