Refugees Demand Reopening of Closed Centres

About 200 refugees have marched to the Marabastad Refugee Reception offices in Pretoria, demanding that closed refugee centres be reopened.
The Consortium for Refugees and Migrants in South Africa (CoRMSA) spokesperson, Gwada Mirai, the marchers, who submitted a memorandum to the Department of Home Affairs officials, also demanded that government should fully operate the centres which are still open.
Mirai states that the Crown Mines refugee centre in Johannesburg, has been shut down, and the refugee centre in Cape Town is to close on 30 June 2012.
