NGOs in Pretoria have increased the delivery of antiretroviral treatment (ART) to people living with HIV and AIDS in the city, but hundreds could still die if their efforts are not intensified.

This was revealed in a report released at the NGO Conference by the Compass Project on the state of HIV and AIDS in the city.

The report points out that the NGOs have managed to get ARTs to 20 percent of people who need it this year, which is five percent better than last year. It states that number of organisations working in the HIV/AIDS sector has also increased from 215 last year to 245 this year.
