Partnerships add voice to International Womens Day event
SABCnews,8 March 2004
International Women's Day in South Africa will be marked by the Minister of Health, Manto Tshabalala, hosting a meeting of key role-players including representatives of the United Nations and the government of Denmark. The meeting will take place at the Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital. This according to the Sowetan. The tripartite partnership to combat violence against women and children was formed in 2002 after a R100mn donation from the Danish government.
The partnership seeks "to raise awareness of the links between all forms of violence against women and children and mobilise resources to address key issues." The meeting will also reflect on lessons learnt from programmes, challenges and best practice that will help the partners.
