OUTA Criticises SANRAL Over Payments

OUTA expresses disappointed at SANRAL’s decision to prosecute motorists for not paying their e-toll accounts

The Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance (OUTA) says they are disappointed by the South African National Roads Agency’s (SANRAL) decision to prosecute motorists for not paying their e-toll accounts.

OUTA spokesperson, Wayne Duvenage, is accusing SANRAL for trying to intimidate people into complying by threatening them with prosecution.

Duvenage’s comments follow the confirmation by the National Prosecuting Authority of the appointment of two prosecutors tasked with exploring whether motorists are breaking the law by not paying their e-toll bills.

He further states that Gauteng Premier, David Makhura, is trying to open up negotiations at regional level but national level is slamming that door shut by threatening motorists.
