No Accountability at SABC – Report
A report on corporate governance at the public broadcaster prepared by Deloitte & Touche for Communications Minister, Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri, has criticised the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) human resource department for lacking accountability.
The report, a result of interviews with SABC staff and executive management, found that staff do not have formal role definitions or job descriptions. It states that there are no formal performance management structures and processe, neither are there broad criteria which all employees are expected to meet. Interviewees stated that has this led to employee frustration as staffers feel they are not being assessed on an equal basis with their peers.
