NMF Appoints 46664 Ambassador
Popular Isidingo actress, Hlubi Mboya, has been appointed ambassador of 46664’s Schools Bangle programme of the Nelson Mandela Foundation (NMF).
Mboya, who received her new role with the school-girl enthusiasm, pointed out that, “I accepted the offer to be an ambassador for the 46664 project because I am passionate about the youth and education, my father being an academic of note. I am a lover of life. I am a lover of people.”
She further said that she got involved because of her role as Nandipha in Isidingo, who HIV positive woman and able to deal with issues of stigma.
“I believe I can contribute something positive to the youth and give them a sense of responsibility as far as education is involved. Personally, I hope that my tombstone will have a diploma or degree inscribed on it,” argued Mboya.
The 46664 programme will see pupils sell bangles made of silver, copper, gold and platinum worldwide, for the next 10 years to raise an estimated R1 billion for the NMF’s 46664 initiatives.
