NGOs to Negotiate Access to Mining Fields

Zimbabwean civil society to negotiate with government for free access to the mining fields

The Zimbabwean civil society representatives say that they will negotiate with the government to get free access to the mining fields as and when they want.

Kimberley Process Civil Society Coalition Representatives in Zimbabwe have emphasised the need for the government to allow its members based in Mutare, to visit the mining fields anytime they wanted.

Crisis Coalition in Zimbabwe acting programmes officer, Nixon Nyikadzino, has described their visit to the mining fields as a ‘guided tour’ as they did not have the flexibility of finding out some of the things they wanted.
