NGO Seeks Information on Journo Payments
Monday, May 21, 2012 - 13:51
The South African National Editors' Forum (SANEF) has asked the police for more information about allegations that Crime Intelligence paid journalists to write articles.
In a press statement SANEF warns that the allegations, which it describes as ‘extremely serious’, are ‘unfortunately’ made without any supporting evidence being provided.
The organisations states that it has written to acting national police commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, asking him to provide it with relevant evidence and any further relevant background so that it can arrive at a view on this matter, which is informed by what it calls hard facts.
