Mail and Guardian, 19 March 2004
The Mail and Guardian reports that the newly elected national executive council (NEC) of the South African National NGO Coalition (SANGOCO) is hard at work trying to stabilise and consolidate the coalition.
SANGOCO has seen its fair share of problems over the past couple of years, mainly on a management and leadership level.
Abie Ditlhake, SANGOCO's Executive Director, who tendered his resignation in the middle of 2003, is leaving the organisation by the end of March 2004. Several other coalition staff members also resigned last year.Nevertheless SANGOCO's new President, Marcia Manong, from the Association for Rural Advancement (AFRA) in the Northern Cape last week said that the NEC was "exceptionally pleased with the progress made in stabilising and consolidating the organisation".Go to Mail and Guardian for more
