More Blacks Excel in Accounting Exams – SAICA
The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) says a record number of black students sat for and passed the final qualifying examination towards becoming chartered accountants.
Of the 200 candidates who passed with flying colours, 142 were black, of which 107 were African.
SAICA executive president, Ignatius Sehoole, said:, “Given the chronic shortage of CAs in South Africa – recent research has revealed that SA needs more than 22 000 accountants, of which 5 300 are at chartered accountant level – the results are hugely encouraging.”
