Housing Project to Rehabilitate Houses

The KwaZulu-Natal department of housing has allocated R88 million for a housing rehabilitation project in the Townview area.
MEC for local government, housing and traditional affairs Mike Mabuyakhulu says the project, which is aimed at rehabilitating 1 423 houses in that area, will take 24 months to complete.
These houses will be demolished and new units will be constructed for the residents. However, the department will build temporary housing structures where people can stay while they wait for their new houses.
