Growth Should Address Inequality, Marginalisation

Rising inequality and marginalisation threatens Africa’s pace of growth, says NGO

A NGO has warned that Africa’s pace of growth is threatened by rising inequality and marginalisation.

In its latest report, Africa Progress Panel, warns that failure to generate equitable growth could result in a demographic disaster marked by rising levels of youth unemployment, social dislocation, and hunger.

The organisation maintains that Africa is on its way to become a preferred investment destination, a potential pole of growth, and a place of immense innovation and creativity, adding that "...Africa’s governments must turn their attention to those who are being left behind."
