Greenpeace Criticises KFC Over Paper Packaging
Friday, June 1, 2012 - 11:21
Greenpeace has accused global fast food chain KFC of using paper packaging made using wood from Indonesian rainforests which it says is endangering the habitat of the Sumatran tiger.
The environmental group says that KFC's trademark chicken buckets and French fry boxes contained timber products from Asia Pulp & Paper (APP), which it describes as the country's ‘notorious forest destroyer’.
The organisation is urging KFC to suspend its contracts with APP and implement a zero deforestation policy across its whole supply chain.
