Zambia’s Information and Broadcasting Service Minister, Ronnie Shikapwasha, says the government has no plans of withdrawing the NGO Bill from Parliament.

Shikapwasha who maintains that several NGOs made submissions to the bill before it went to parliament and is wondering why they are now objecting.

His comments come as several NGOs threaten to take legal action against government if it does not withdraw the NGO bill from Parliament. The NGOs have said the bill sought to put in place a legal framework that will regulate the operations of NGOs saying it was unconstitutional.
