Charity Worker Admits to Child Sex Charges

The American founder of a leading Haitian charity school for street children pleaded guilty to charges of paedophilia and admitted having sex with eight minors in Haiti.
Douglas Perlitz faces up to 30 years in prison and a R1.8 million fine after travelling from the United States to Haiti between 2001 and 2008 to have sex with the eight victims.
In a press statement, the United States Justice Department, says Perlitz, the founder and director of Project Pierre Toussaint, a boys' school in Cap-Haitien in northern Haiti, made a plea deal with a judge in New Haven, Connecticut.
