Charities Win Big at Turffontein’s SA Derby

High drama at Turffontein over the weekend resulted in two charities sharing a windfall of R45 000.

The SA Derby, one of four Grade 1 events at the race meeting, was linked to the Intercontinental Village Day Charity Cup in which nearly R100 000 was given away to charities.

Similar to the Charity Mile, each of the participating charities and sponsors was represented by a runner in the SA Derby and the finishing order determined the amount won by each charity.
