Celebrities for Charities Auctions on Bidorbuy
South Africa's online auction site and market place, bidorbuy.co.za, opens its portal today for the charity fund-raising event of the year. The "celebrities for charities" auctions on bidorbuy will run from 23-30 June 2009.
During this week, bidders will have a chance to compete for the privilege of spending some time in the company of their favourite celebrity - and help raise money for several charities in the process.
Some of South Africa's best-known personalities are donating their time for the benefit of the charity they are endorsing, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, paralympics runner Oscar Pistorius, singer Steve Hofmeyr; Evita Bezuidenhout, radio DJ Fresh and politician Patricia De Lille.
The participating charities include IkamvaYouth, Matla a Bana, South African Anxiety and Depression Group, and Endangered Wildlife Trust.
