South Africa’s newest television station, Cape Town TV (CTV), is already planning to start broadcasting to the greater Cape Town area in August 2008.
CTV Chairperson, Martin Jansen, notes that the station will derive its content from community organisations, trade unions, NGOs, educational institutions and the government.
CTV was founded by more than 200 NGOs three years ago, aims to give a weak civil society structure in the province a presence on TV.
