‘Black and White’ Disparities in SA Children

Huge disparities in the living conditions of black and white infants in South Africa, says Stats SA report

Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) says that huge disparities in the living conditions of black and white infants in South Africa.

In its report, South Africa's Young Children: Their Parents and Home Environment 2012, statistician general, states that there are 5.3 million in South Africa, representing about 10 percent of the population, of which 85 percent of them are described as ‘black African’.

Lehohla argues that, "The results highlighted that children from the black African and the coloured population groups are perpetually disadvantaged when compared to those from the Indian/Asian and the white population."
