BSI in Bonn has warned that those who want a copy of the new Windows 7 should download it only from Microsoft's website
The German Federal Agency for Security in Information Technology in Bonn has warned that those who want a copy of the new Windows 7 should download it only from Microsoft's website.

The agency says cyber-criminals are currently passing around a version that includes something that looks like a setup file for the operating system but which is instead a Trojan.

The Trojan can infect computers running Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP and Server 2003. Windows 7 is currently in the Release Candidate stage.
