AIDS Group Wants Zimbabwe to Return Funds

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, an international organisation that fights AIDS and other communicable diseases, is demanding that Zimbabwe return millions of dollars in donations it says were misused.

The Fund says it wants back US$7.3 million of the US$12.3 million it deposited into Zimbabwe's Reserve Bank in 2007.

The Fund’s communication director, Jon Liden, confirmed that the Zimbabwean government promised to return the money this week.
