Moseneke: Leaders Can’t Escape Judgment Day

Moseneke wants leaders to be held accountable through the threat of removal at the ballot box

Former deputy chief justice, Dikgang Moseneke, wants leaders to be held accountable through the threat of removal at the ballot box, and he says ‘race is a refuge most people run to’.

Speaking after the launch of the International Federation for Human Rights’ 39th conference in Johannesburg, Moseneke, who added that he is positive about the country, says the strongest form of accountability is electoral accountability.

His comments come shortly after the ANC suffered its worst performance at the polls yet, losing major metropoles in the recent local government elections.
