Zambia’s Minister of Community Development, Emerine Kabanshi, says civil society has an important role to play in the government’s national development agenda.
Kabanshi says non-governmental organisations (NGOs) complement government’s efforts in improving the quality of the lives of Zambians.
She points out that, “In order to enhance the collaboration between NGOs and government, President [Edgar] Lungu has continued to develop and support policies that are aimed at improving co-ordination of NGO activities to reduce duplication of efforts and ensure accountability and equitable distribution of resources.”
