Lungu’s Proposal Supported by NGOs

Two Zambian NGOs welcome Lungu’s proposal for the private sector to help set up maternal centres for teenage mothers in the country.

Two non-governmental organisations based in Livingstone have welcomed First Lady Esther Lungu’s proposal for the private sector to help set up maternal centres for teenage mothers in the country.

Southern Province coordinator for Poverty Reduction Education Programme, Gift Lwembe, says the idea needs the support of all stakeholders.

Lwembe has told ZNBC News in Livingstone that the proposed teenage maternal centres will improve the lives of young mothers who often lack knowledge and income to support their children.
