Games to Prioritise Youth-Empowerment

SASCOC says the Durban 2022 Commonwealth Games seeks to boost the skills of young people in South Africa

The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) president, Gideon Sam, says the Durban 2022 Commonwealth Games seeks to boost the skills of young people in South Africa.

Sam says that after the Confederation studied the government’s National Development Plan (NDP), they have realised that skills and young people are at the centre of the plan.

“Having studied the NDP and everything within the departments of our government, we looked at what is important to them and we have seen its skills and young people,” he explains.
