Fire at the Jakaranda Children's Home - Request for Support

Fire at the Jakaranda Children’s Home in Pretoria - Your support urgently needed

The relief house at the Jakaranda Children’s Home was partially destroyed in a fire that took place during the past weekend (23 May). One of the rooms was totally destroyed, while a huge part of the house suffered severe smoke damage.

This house is being used over weekends to accommodate 20 boys, but as a result of the fire, it is now impossible to do so. This incident happened at a very difficult time for as, as our subsidy from the government was cut drastically last month.

Any help from the public will be highly appreciated as we do not have the necessary funding for the restoration. Curtains and linen can be washed and hopefully used again, but the 20 mattresses for example, will have to be replaced.
